Liability In Concord Motorcycle Accidents

Far too many people are killed or seriously injured in motorcycle accidents every year. Many of these collisions are due to drivers that follow the leading vehicle too closely. Pursuant to California Vehicle Code 21703, the driver of another vehicle shall not follow a vehicle more closely than is reasonable or safe given the prevailing conditions of the roadway. There is a rebuttable presumption of negligence on the part of any driver that rear-ends another vehicle in their own lane. Victims of motorcycle accidents tend to suffer very serious injuries including:

  • Broken bones
  • Head injuries
  • Lacerations
  • Spinal cord injuries

The family of any person that is killed in a car accident may have legal recourse through a wrongful death claim. Damages can help with many of the expenses that often come with the sudden loss of a loved one. There are, however, statute of limitations associated with being able to pursue civil claims. It is therefore important to act quickly after any accident.
