BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA (October 26, 2022) – A pedestrian has tragically died in a Bakersfield hit-and-run car accident along H Street.

Kern County officials are saying that the accident took place around 8:12 p.m. on Friday. A pedestrian was crossing the street when they were hit by a gray GMC Yukon.

Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene of the collision in order to help the victim. Despite the best efforts of first responders, the pedestrian died as a result of their injuries.

Police officers are still searching for the driver of the gray GMC Yukon who fled the scene. A full investigation remains ongoing at this time.
