Liability For Navasota Car Accidents

Head-on collisions are among the most dangerous types of car accidents that a person can be involved in. They account for only around 2% of all collisions but over 11% of all traffic fatalities. According to the NHTSA, “For more than two decades, speeding has been involved in approximately one-third of all motor vehicle fatalities. In 2020, speeding was a contributing factor in 29% of all traffic fatalities.” There are a number of steps that should be taken after a car accident.

  • Eye witnesses should be interviewed.
  • Medical records should be preserved.
  • Surveillance footage should be sought.
  • Photos of the accident site should be taken.

All drivers must use caution to avoid causing collisions. When a driver makes unsafe turning movements and hits and other vehicle, this could form the basis of a negligence claim. The family of any person that is killed due to the negligent actions of another driver may have legal recourse through a wrongful death claim. It is extremely important that all evidence is properly preserved after any collision.
