This edition contains a wealth of helpful information and engaging articles on health and medicine, home and family, business, and gardening. The lead story is about a toxic danger you may have in your own home: the widely used herbicide, Monsanto Roundup.
RoundUp
Two recent lawsuits have been decided against Monsanto, finding that the main ingredient in RoundUp, glyphosate, at least partially caused the plaintiffs’ non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Of course, Bayer, which purchased Monsanto in 2018, denies claims that glyphosate kills. They say its glyphosate-based herbicide formulation is not carcinogenic and can be used safely.
Who do you believe?
As a legal professionals, the experienced attorneys at TorkLaw have faith in the jury system. We also have faith in the power of the mounting evidence showing that people heavily exposed to glyphosate have a 41% higher risk of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
What’s really frightening is how widespread this chemical is: it’s in our water, our food, and our soil. Over 750 brands containing this chemical are sold in the United States.
I urge you to take great care when using weed killers on your property or in your work, both for your own safety and to protect our environment. If possible, avoid products containing glyphosate: read the label to see if it’s listed under active ingredients.
Because RoundUp doesn’t just kill plants, it may be killing people, many countries and jurisdictions have banned the use of glyphosate products. These places include the European Union and Los Angeles County. We call on U.S. regulatory agencies to ban glyphosate everywhere in our country.
