Inmate Vianna Granillo, 25, Died After Medical Emergency At Las Colinas Women’s Jail In Santee
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA (July 14, 2022) – A female inmate identified as Vianna Granillo has tragically died after experiencing a medical emergency at the Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility in Santee.
San Diego County police officials are saying that the incident began around 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Vianna Granillo was initially booked into the Riverview Parkway detention center after she was arrested.
Correctional officers performed a safety check around 2:00 a.m. and found the inmate unconscious. Life-saving measures were taken and the woman was transported to the hospital in order to receive care.
Vianna Granillo continued to decline at the hospital and was eventually pronounced dead. A full investigation into the in-custody death remains ongoing at this time.
This death comes just two weeks after another woman died in custody at the Los Colinas jail.
